Northern Illinois University

The Avalon String Quartet is pleased to announce that it will be the new Artist Faculty String-Quartet-in-Residence at the Northern Illinois University School of Music. The Avalon Quartet is succeeding the Vermeer Quartet, which is retiring later this year.  The school is located in DeKalb, Illinois. 

Our appointment  begins August 16, 2007. We will teach applied lessons and coach chamber music. We will also perform a number of concerts on campus and on a NIU-produced concert series in Chicago. 

As alumni of the Vermeer Quartet Program at NIU, we feel especially honored to be chosen to follow in their footsteps!
